alldeles knäck(-t)

Making these sweets for christmas is an old, very common tradition among both swedes and fennoswedes. I especially want to refer to the name - knäck - because that's what the procedure does to me: "jag blir helt knäckt" = swedish slang expression for "being defeated or the experience of a disaster". In spite of years and years of effort and training the knäck still won't turn out the way it should - and if it ever did - I wouldn't want it anyway: it's too sweet.
.
Unfortunately the men in this household do not agree.

are these the results of your making? :)

Perfect look! I remember reading in children's books about 'knäck strutar' and the words just sounded so good! Whenever I made knäck I ended up cutting/breaking it into pieces. Just the mere 'styling' proves you have patience!

P.S. Check my website...

Thank You, yes they are homemade, yesterday evening in our kitchen. :-) We had some leftover cream that would have otherwise gone bad, and so my son said: "Mummyyyy... is my memory failing me... or have we once before made knäck from old cream....?

See that's my main problem - the consistency! The knäck always ends up too creamy or too hard, and even if You do the "drop-test" You never really know how the cones will turn out. The taste is ok though, but I will try to use orange peel for flavour the next time - You think that would work?

Checked You website: Thank You! Hillarious entertainment! :-D

I'm looking forward to get your recipe or if you publish it here - there is one in Wikipedia, but too vague...

Oh well, this IS in fact the traditional way to mold these sweets! :-)

I might publish it. Depends on how hard the christmas spirit strikes this year. That's all I have to say about that. ;-)
