Let's go to the movies and see some DRAMA for a change! Some STORY-telling! Some mindblowing, really THRILLing intrigues! Some ADVENTURE! Some ACTING! Some PASSION! - and not just the usual computer animated bullshit and exaggerated use of special effects.

Right! It really requires skill and insight to depict true human interaction on the screen.
Is there a relatively recent movie you can think of that really captured (any kind of) human relationships well? If so, why?
Just det ! Ordejntlig film!
great!
"She's got a date at midnight,
with Nosferatu." (black # 1 : Type O Negative) do you know the song?

Yes, I have a few recent favourites, and one of them is "The Piano Teacher" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Piano_Teacher) which is a dark erotic drama that very well portraits the relationship not only between the middleaged spinster piano teacher and her young lover/student, but also the very complicated relationship to her mother with whom she still lives. Beware though if You decide to see it - it's not an film to watch for the amusement of it.
Other movies I've enjoyed because of the way they describe relationships are:
"Den bästa av mödrar" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%84ideist%C3%A4_parhain)
"Notes on a scandal"
"Lost in translation"

I think magic happens when the charisma of two actors - when together! - equals more than the sum of them both - apart. Certain people seem to bring out the best and worst in eachother and then all You need is a good story and a brave producer without fear of unhappy endings... ;-)

Ibland är det skönt med den här gamla skolans rollpresentation där man riktigt får gotta sig åt övertydligheten, eller hur!? :-)

I found this film on the blog of a fellow countrywoman of Yours. :-)
No I don't know the song, but a friend of mine said he thinks Type O Negative has used clips from this film in some of their music videos. Is that so?
Love "Den bästa av mödrar." "Lost in Translation" was OK, and I haven't seen the others.
So many contemporary movies lack solid stories and/or chemistry between the stars. That's why I watch a lot of vintage movies.
Did you see "Once"?

Fantastic movie.
I did see "Once". It's great, but makes my thoughts and emotions go places they don't want to go... ;-)
Love the lead motive, too!
